3rd Final of the All-Polish Ecological Contest ”LET’S FIND A PLACE FOR ELECTRO-WASTE”

This year’s final of the contest brought a lot of novelties and joy. This time, the laureates of the contest met at the Cinema Park in Bemowo to have fun together and to receive prizes. At the very beginning, the laureates were a little restless, but just a quick burst of the musical welcome from the BLUESMASZYNA band caused the young audience to give spontaneous shouts and even screams.
At last, the culmination point. Mrs. Gabriela Leszczyńska, the president of AURAEKO Organizacja Odzysku Sprzętu Elektrycznego i Elektronicznego S.A. read out the verdict of the Contest Committee.1st Prize – a 50“LG plasma TV set with 600 Hz, Sub-Fields Driving technology was awarded to Middle School No. 3 from Łukowo. The team ”Łowcy ZSEE – Reaktywacja” [WEEE Hunters – Reactivation] collected almost 9 tons of used equipment. The members of the team received COOLPIX S 3100 digital cameras produced by Nikon and small souvenirs from AURAEKO.

2nd Prize – a 32” LG LCD TV set was awarded to Middle School No. 8 from Chełm. The team ”Ósemkowe Dzieci Kontra Elektrośmieci” [8MS Children vs. Electro-waste], collected over 9 tons of electro-waste. The team members also received COOLPIX S 2500 digital cameras produced by Nikon as well as small souvenirs from AURAEKO.

3rd Prize – a 32” LG LCD TV set was awarded to Middle School No. 1 from Chojnice. The ECO-C team collected almost 12 tons of used equipment. The team members also received COOLPIX S 2500 digital cameras produced by Nikon as well as small souvenirs from AURAEKO.

4th Prize – a 22“LG monitor was awarded to Middle School No. 1 from Kościerzyna. The „Pogromcy Elektrośmieci II” team [Electro–waste Conquerors] collected 6 tons of used equipment. The team members received COOLPIX L 23 digital cameras produced by Nikon as well as little gifts from AURAEKO.

Joy and applause filled the cinema room in which the ceremony took place and the colourful boxes of the LG TV sets, colourful ecological bags from AURAEKO and colourful NIKON cameras for the winners could be seen everywhere.

Within the framework of the contest, the youth collected, in total, almost 62 tons of electro-waste (75% more than last year).

The main beneficiary of the actions taken during the contest was the youth participating in it as well as the environment. Such is actually the main message of the contest for all its editions.
