Spring cleaning in Zerzeń with AURAEKO 2019
Subsequent WEEE and waste batteries collection campaigns organised as part of educational projects indicate that the “resources” from garages and cellars are inexhaustible. It is very common that collection campaigns supported with educational materials and information for participants provided before the collection day are very effective. We encourage to watch the photo album and see what kind of waste equipment was luckily brought to our collection instead of being dumped in a forest or to a bin.
What have we collected? Waste: fridges, washing machines, power tools, cables, batteries and accumulators in various colours and with logos of all well-known and less popular manufacturers. Electronic waste collected will not poison people or the environment any more, and, nevertheless, give their owners the so far used space back.
We encourage everyone to participate in our projects so that the waste electric and electronic equipment as well as waste batteries and accumulators were brought to the right place and professionally processed.
Let’s remember that:
Dangerous chemical compounds and poisonous substances contained in electronic waste (e.g. FREON in the cooling system of fridges, MERCURY in lamps, energy- saving light bulbs and CRTs, as well as CADMIUM and BROMINE COMPOUNDS) contribute to environmental contamination and pose a risk for human health.
Incorrect disposal of electronic waste causes substances to be released into the environment, easily penetrating the soil and groundwater, and in effect, they may pollute the environment and cause health problems in humans and animals.
Products bearing this mark must not be thrown into municipal waste. We bring it to the collection campaigns such as this or give it to the Points of selective collection of municipal waste. For detailed information, please contact your municipality.
