The tenth summer edition of the charity camp for children – English Summer Camp 2013, supported by AURAEKO, is coming up!
The next edition of the charity Camp for children, organized by the Project Management Institute Gdansk Branch every year since 2004, will take place in the holiday resort ‘Zielona Szarlota’ near Kościerzyna between 7 and 20 August 2013.
The main objective of the program is to enable children brought up in the orphanages, foster families and families with low financial status to participate in the free summer English course. Besides daily English classes with qualified teachers, children are involved in a number of games and workshops with volunteers. The aim of those additional activities is to increase the level of self-confidence, improve ability to cope with stress and lower the aggression level among the kids. Children can also attend meetings with inspiring people from the world of sports and politics, which help promote cultural and environmental awareness among the campers. Besides financial support, as a nature friendly company, AURAEKO is also going to help ESC 2013 team to prepare workshops and lectures about waste electrical and electronic equipment and its impact on the environment and human health.
The participants of the upcoming ESC 2013 are 36 children from Trójmiasto and Tczew. As the project of the upcoming Camp, the kids will be able to create blog and publish entries in English with news and photos from the past days. The main and probably the most exciting event will be a fashion show organized for the second time in collaboration with well-known Polish fashion brand, whose headquarters is located in Gdansk. This unique event combined with a meeting with the sponsors and Balkan music concert will give the kids an opportunity to work on their confidence and try themselves as the real models. The event will be held on August 13 in Hotel Szarlota.
The action involves volunteers from various companies and organizations that support this activity of PMI Gdansk Branch. The success of the project depends primarily on the financial and material support of individuals, organizations and socially responsible businesses.
